So apparently no one should ever buy sugarless Haribo gummy bears

Fun fact: I once bought sugar free gummy bears.

This is exactly what happened

xkalisto said: Sorry there was a mistake in my post (i edited it too late) 30% of women play violent games. 20% play CoD. According to that study.

Which is awesome.  But it bugs me when people try to claim that half of all gamers are women.  Like, seriously, fuck off with that.  Don’t lie.  Be happy with the number we’re at now and hope that number grows.

Then again, these people who use those stats are the kind who are far more likely to turn women OFF of gaming, rather than gamers themselves.

The ‘half the gamers are women therefore you need to cater to us’ argument has always smacked of idiocy to me.

I mean, if half the current gamers are women then obviously those women are happy with the games currently available to them otherwise they wouldn’t be buying them would they?!

Now I really want to know the general level of buyer’s remorse in the video game sector

Because I have high ass levels for someone who buys more than the average spender.

I really don’t like the “they must be happy with them or they wouldn’t be buying them” thing. I regularly consume media that has problems - I’m not happy with it. I purchase movies and tv shows that have misogyny issues and still have a problem with the misogyny in them. There are things I like to do that I do while putting up with the misogyny in them in the hope that it improves.

"Then again, these people who use those stats are the kind who are far more likely to turn women OFF of gaming, rather than gamers themselves."

lolololol no. You know what made me stop playing games? Daily rape threats and the inability to reveal my gender without a barrage of insults. In short, gamers.

Odd, because often I’ve met women who don’t have that problem.  Me? I’m one of them.

You know what happens when I get attacked for my gender?  I put up.  I kick their asses in the game.  And it stops.  Quickly.  Or it doubles down because they’re fucking butthurt over a girl killing them.

The misconception is that gamers are rude assholes to women.  This is entirely false.  They are rude assholes to everyone until that person earns their keep.  Play a fucking MOBA and screw up.  Doesn’t matter if you’re a guy or a girl, you’re going to get fucking slammed and told to go kill yourself.

You know, just because YOU decided it wasn’t for you, doesn’t mean other women follow your line of thinking.  Stop projecting on to them because I can assure you, a goddamn lot of women, such as my followers, can put up with as much shit as a guy can and happily play their games.

They don’t feel the need to bitch about ‘misogyny’.  They don’t need to be looking for ‘problematic’ issues.  They, and myself in particular, understand shit like the female power fantasy, the fact that women can enjoy sex and sexy situations, that women can be aggressive and competitive, that women can take shit and dole it right back out.

Why the fuck do you think #notyourshield has taken off as quickly as it has?  Because why would women rush to the defense of gamers if they thought they were so horrid?  And before you answer with bullshit like “patriarchy”, “internalized misogyny” or “they want male approval”, realize how fucking sexist it is to strip those women of their autonomy and for you to slap external sources for their motivations, instead of allowing them to make a choice.

See the full footage here: Winston (kitty) takes care of Zeke (puppy)

"Zeke just got home from the vet — being allergic to certain grasses, he broke out in hives and they gave him steroid and benadryl shots. This is Winston, loving and taking care of him"

A cats purr vibrates at a frequency that promotes bone health and aids in healing. So the kitty is probably trying to purr him better.
